Email Brother NickThank you for the warm reception we received here at Oak Shade.
I am 35 years old and have been married to my wife, Angela (30), for ten years. We have a daughter named Janette who is five years old. Angela is a certified teacher and has a small photography & video business. She has a big heart that seeks the good in all people and desires to share Christ with everyone with whom she comes in contact. I have been truly blessed with such a beautiful family who supports me in the ministry that God has placed us.
I became a Christian at age six and my call to ministry came during my freshman year at East Texas Baptist University. I graduated from ETBU with a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Ministries, and a Minor in Church Recreation. In 2007 I received a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Houston, TX. Prior to serving at Oak Shade I have worked at a Baptist camp as the Director of Summer Staff and Recreation and after camp ministry I served as a youth pastor for eight years. During my first two years of youth ministry I worked as a school teacher and basketball coach. I have also served as an education minister, children’s minister, and for a year as an Interim Pastor.
It is my desire as a minister to speak the truth of God’s Word so that adults and students alike can develop into mature Christians who are not ashamed of their faith and who are confident in sharing that faith with others (Rom. 1:16). Confidence is gained first through a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior. Once a person has tasted and seen that the Lord is good and experienced the power of His forgiveness in their life they are then moved to share what they have experienced with others (Ps 34.8, Mt 5.13-16). It is at this time that a Christian experiences another step in developing confidence and faith; putting faith to practice! This comes through growing in discipleship and placing ourselves in positions of service and outreach. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve along side of each of you to reach our community and world for Christ.
